Why Georgia Drivers Choose Astel LLC
Our owner drove trucks himself — and built the company he always wanted to work for. 18 years later, we're still growing and still treating every driver like a person, not a number in a system.
Georgia: The Southeast's Freight Powerhouse
Georgia is the logistics backbone of the entire Southeast — anchored by the Port of Savannah, the Atlanta distribution mega-hub, and I-75, I-85, and I-16 connecting every major market in the region. If you're hauling reefer, you're in exactly the right state.
🛣️ Georgia's Major Freight Hubs
The Port of Savannah is the second-largest container port on the East Coast and one of the fastest-growing in the U.S., generating 14,000–16,000 truck gate moves every single business day. Atlanta's massive distribution network, combined with Georgia's interstate system — I-75, I-85, I-20, I-16, I-95 — connects every Southeast market to the national freight grid.
🌡️ Georgia's Climate & Why Reefer Demand Never Stops
Georgia's climate is as diverse as its freight — and that diversity fuels year-round demand for temperature-controlled transport. With summer temperatures regularly exceeding 95°F (35°C) across much of the state, cold-chain integrity is critical on every single load.
Spring: Georgia's agricultural regions kick off
with strawberries, blueberries, and early vegetables from
the Vidalia and Tifton corridors — reefer demand spikes hard.
Summer: Record heat across the Piedmont and Coastal Plain
means refrigeration isn't optional — it's the whole game.
Experienced reefer drivers are in constant demand.
Fall & Winter: Pecan season, sweet potato runs,
and citrus moving north from Florida through Georgia's I-75 corridor.
Georgia's freight market never truly slows — it just shifts cargo type.
🚦 Your Routes from Georgia with Astel
Astel's core corridors run Southeast ↔ Midwest and continue to expand. Georgia drivers pick up loads in Atlanta, Savannah, Macon, and Augusta, then move north and west on I-75, I-85, and I-20 toward Chicago, Nashville, Indianapolis, Kansas City, and across the full Midwest network. We're growing — drivers must be ready to run all 48 contiguous states.
📊 Georgia in Numbers — Freight & Logistics
The scale of Georgia's freight market puts it in a class of its own in the Southeast — and it's only getting bigger.
