Why Missouri Drivers Choose Astel
Our owner is a former truck driver who built the company he wished existed. 18 years later — we're still growing and still treating drivers like people, not numbers.
Missouri: Where East Meets West
Kansas City anchors the western end of Astel's core lanes, St. Louis guards the Mississippi crossing, and I-70 ties them together. Missouri drivers sit exactly where American freight changes direction.
🛣️ Major Missouri Freight Hubs
Two big river cities with opposite personalities: Kansas City — rail, intermodal, and food distribution; St. Louis — the historic gateway where I-70, I-44, I-55, and I-64 all converge.
🌡️ Missouri Climate & Reefer Demand
Continental climate with hot, humid summers and real winters — Missouri freight needs temperature protection at both ends of the thermometer.
Summer: 95°F+ and humid — beef, pork, and dairy loads
from the processing belt demand an unbroken cold chain.
Winter: Ice storms sweep I-70 and I-44 — loads switch to
protect-from-freeze, and the reefer keeps working in heating mode.
Year-round: Kansas City's food DCs and the state's meat
processing keep reefer volume steady in every season.
🚦 Your Missouri Lanes with Astel
Kansas City is one of Astel's named lane endpoints — our West ↔ Midwest corridors run straight through Missouri on I-70. Drivers load in KC and St. Louis and run toward Chicago, Denver, and the coasts. Be ready to run all 48 contiguous states.
📊 Missouri Freight by the Numbers
The state where the Interstate era literally began.
