Why Colorado Drivers Choose Astel
Our owner is a former truck driver who built the company he wished existed. 18 years later — we're still growing and still treating drivers like people, not numbers.
Colorado: Gateway to the Mountain West
Denver is a named endpoint of Astel's lanes: the Front Range supplies the entire Mountain West, Greeley runs one of the nation's largest beef operations, and I-70 climbs from the plains to the highest point on the Interstate system.
🛣️ Major Colorado Freight Hubs
Nearly everything in Colorado happens along the Front Range — a 180-mile urban strip on I-25 where the state's people, warehouses, and freight all live.
🌡️ Colorado Climate & Reefer Demand
A mile above sea level, Colorado swings from 95°F summers to mountain blizzards — and reefer equipment earns its keep in both.
Summer: Hot, dry Front Range days — beef out of Greeley and
grocery volume into Denver run on refrigeration.
Winter: The I-70 mountain corridor demands chains, patience,
and skill; freeze-sensitive loads switch the reefer into heating mode.
Year-round: Denver's DCs restock five states' worth of
shelves — Mountain West grocery freight never pauses.
🚦 Your Colorado Lanes with Astel
Denver is where Astel's West ↔ Midwest corridors meet the mountains. Loads run east on I-76 and I-70 toward Chicago and Kansas City, and west toward Utah and the coast. Be ready to run all 48 contiguous states.
📊 Colorado Freight by the Numbers
High altitude, high stakes, high demand for good drivers.
